Does anyone know where to get a new speed sensor, how much they cost, and how to replace them?

My speedometer went, of course the odometer doesnt work either now, and I am getting a CEL. The idle is fubar as well and it wants to drop to 500rpm at any speed, presumably because it thinks it's at 0mph.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i guess not. looks like AZ has them. Just be careful when you purchase, if you have ABS, you may not have a dedicated speed sensor, the signal may come from the ABS system.

Well apparently non-abs uses the body control module to poll RPMs from rear wheel speed sensors, but I was pretty sure there was also a speed sensor in the transfer case. No wonder nobody screws with it, no telling where exactly the problem is... I just don't feel like paying 500.00+ just to get my speedometer to work again... I was hoping to do it myself for less than 250.00...

The speed sensor is on the rear axle(on top),cheak the wires that go to it first. It's common for the wires to fray and then your spedo stops working.I had a wire break off in the connector itself, talk about a pain to find. The rear sensor is about $50 and takes 30 seconds to replace, jusy one 10mm bolt hold it is.My beat is you have a bad wire.

There is no speed sensor in the t-case on a KJ,only the rear axle,ABS KJ's have a sensor on each front wheel but has nothing to do with the speedo, only the ABS.
