The other day I placed a brand new CD in the player in my 04 Liberty and the LED display showed error no disc. Now I haven't used the CD player in like 2 years, I have a Sirius satellite radio. Could the player be dusty and need to have a shot of dust off blown into it to clean it out?

I just tried the Dust Off and now I have a CD stuck in the player. The CD player on my wife's 05 Liberty had a CD get jammed it in but thankfully the player was under warrenty, so alls she had to pay was a deductible. Mine has over 100,000 miles so I guess I am screwed. Any ideas on how to get the CD out?

A hammer

In all seriousness, though, looking at my OEM one (not really my OEM CD player from my KJ though...mine came with a tape deck...and I swapped it out with the CD/tape deck out of a Ram SLT Laramie with leather and all that stuff...yeah...I bet whoever bought that truck was confused as to why it came with a tape deck...) but I digress

there are two screws on the top, and it looks like the top comes off, and it also looks like the faceplate just clips on to the front of the head unit.

That being said, I'm not willing to disassemble mine to find out, since it's still in good working condition.

So I could just pop the cover off the face plate and remove the CD?

I just went outside and lo and behold the disc ejected. But I still get the error message ERR in the LED.

Sounds like it's time to hit up ebay for a replacement radio. You could even get an upgraded unit like the in dash 6-disk changer + sirius.

I need me one of these. But wouldn't you need a sat radio antenna?

You need a separate antenna for the Sirius, but you really can not notice it, mine is on the back section of the roof and the wire comes in via the back hatch.

How can I unplug the radio? Will I get the same effect by pulling the fuse for the radio?

It happened to me also, I got tired of messing with it so I left the cd in it for a few weeks. Then one magical day one of my passengers hit the eject button and it popped out. I haven't had a problem with it since. They actually make cd's with little brushes on it that are "supposed to clean the player" I don't know if they actually work since I can't see inside the hole but I have one and I put it in every once in a while. It seems to skip less with my scratched cd's after I do.

I have my OEM CD player for sale if you want it. Light surface scratches on the display which are hardly noticeable(I can buff them out) and it works perfect. It's not the 6 CD changer. Just AM/FM CD with BAL and Fade knobs and Bass and Treb sliders.
You can have it for $60 shipped.
I take paypal if you're interested...or if anybody else wants it.
