I have a 2002 Limited with CD, Cass and remote 6 disk changer. I was thinking I might swap in an aftermarket deck, but I'd like it to still control the changer. Soooo....

Who manufactures the OEM decks? Seems to me the changer looks like an Alpine unit.

Yeah !
Good question.
I've got a 2007 Limited and thinking of upgrading the OEM H.U. only.
I'm after a H.U. that is Mp3, WMA , IPod & AAC compatible.

The research I've done has led me to the concusion that the OEM H.U. is 1.5 Din (Very unique size !!)
Anyone have any reccomendations?
If I find a HU that fits the bill, will my OEM 6 Disc (Cd only) changer be compatable?

Will I still maintain my steering wheel controls?
Anyone done anything similiar?

good to hear you want to get rid of the stock radio. if you want to keep your steering wheel controls you'll need an extra connector.

try this: http://www.pac-audio.com/products/produ ... 0Interface

remember not all aftermarket radios are compatable with steering wheel controls. make sure you do some research before you buy the connector and headunit.

oh and with the mounting kit only single din radios will fit. don't bother with equalizers... i tried and failed. working on a fix though.

1) 1 DIN will work just fine, the sellers generally give you adapters and fillers, and it looks seamless, places like crutchfield, best buy, circuit city all sell adapters and fillers, and most of the time it is completely free if you buy from them.

2) I also remember that 6CD is done by Alpine

3) Steeering controls, you have two options.
a) Get an HU with wired remote input, and get PAC SWI-JACK, and wire your steering wheel buttons to the HU via wired connection, fast and reliable
b) Get an HU without wired remote input, and get PAC SWI-X (I think X or whatever they call now) it comes with IR transmitter that you would place accross from your radio (under armrest somewhere or top on ceiling liner) and that would mimic the remote, it is a bit slower response then wired.

Kenwood that I have came with wired remote input on the back, but because I am so lazy, I didn't buy SWI-JACK to wire it yet.
