I only got 1 working key with my new CRD. I bought a non remote key, but want another remote. The price is too much at the dealer ($135 + $25/program). With most Chrysler keys like this being the same with the same esn# on the back, I wondered..........A friend of mine wrecked her '06 Caravan and has a remote key thats useless to her. Can i just reprogram it to match mine and simply cut the key section off and use as a remote only???

If you have 2 working keys, you can program a third one yourself. The owner's manual has the procedure. You can find remote blanks on Ebay. Anybody can cut it. You can program it. As for a Caravan key, it seems like it might be worth a try...

on my 08, if you only have one working key, the dealer has to use star scan to program the second key. one this is done, you can self learn the the system
