Finally found the time to get my CB installed today. Happy with the way it turned out. The CB I got is this:

I got a basic magnet mounted 4' whip antenna to go with it, and it seems to be workin just fine. Also installed a weatherproof loudspeaker under the hood for the PA function. Now I can yell at people during rush hour traffic

Took the Renegage lightbar apart, found the grommet where the wiring goes through the roof, and routed the coax through there, across the inside of the roof paneling, and then down the side pillar and into the dash. Worked out pretty good.

Was easy to setup the antenna properly - the CB has a built in meter. Snipped a 1/4 inch off the antenna. My readings are now around 1.5

Took a couple pics, but I'm not sure how they will turn out as the lighting in my garage is pretty crappy. Will post-em after dinner.

i need pics of that!!! i have been trying to route my cb coax for years now!

was only 20 bucks. just a basic PA horn designed for CB radios. has a 3.5 mm plug.

It's actually super easy:

On the back of the lightbar there are 4 screws that need to be removed so that you can take the plastic housing off:



This is what it looks like with the plastic cover removed:



The hole in the roof for the wiring is on the drivers side, bewtween the 1st and 2nd light:





Pop the gromment and feed all of the coax through the hole.



The coax will now be between the steel roof and the interior headliner. Feed it through so that you are aiming for the driver's side front pillar.

Inside the truck, remove the cover/handle assembly for the front driver's pillar, pop the top part of the dash that covers the tweaters. (srry no pics of that)

unscrew the drivers side sunvisor from the headliner.



Once you undo the visor, the headliner can be gently popped down just enough to get your hand in there and start pulling your coax through. Run the coax down the pillar, and use the existing clips for the light bar wiring to secure your coax. There's an empty channel in these clips that works perfect:



With the top part of the dash removed, you will find there is lots of room to run your coax to wherever you need to route it.

Make sure you still have a good seal at the rubber gromment before you put the lightbar back together. I used a bit of silicone caulking to make sure everything stays water tight.
