Post subject:  Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness

HI, I'm looking to add a trailer hitch (which I have) and the wiring. I bought the harness on Friday, but I'm having a hard time figuring out where this wiring harness gets spliced in. I was told that it was located behind one of the taillights... I need someone's expertise.

Thanks in advance!

just pull off the taillight and there is a connector that you disconnect and plug in the harness, its really simple I bet if you just pull the taillight off you'll see how it goes

Is it either taillight, or one or the other specifically? I was told maybe the driver's side...

Thanks!

The one I bought from Advanced Auto connected behind both taillights. Make sure you put a cloth between the rear fender and the hanging tail light or you will scratch the crap out of the fender (I did it to my driverside).

That's where I bought the harness I have. Hopefully I can try it w/in the next 2 weekends.

Do you have any suggestions where to run the wiring then? Along the underside of the rear bumper, I guess...

Thanks.

The harness was only $15 or $16 at Advance. Pretty reasonable, I think. Although I am certainly no electrician, mechanic, etc. That's why I want to be sure of what I'm doing before I go ripping stuff apart. :?
