Not hard at all... I just got done installing an EVIC in my '03, and I was worried about screwing up the wiring myself... The hardest part is Cutting the headliner.
You've probably already seen this... It's the pinout for the OBDII port that is out in the open under the steering wheel, on the right side. FInd this, and three of the four wires get spliced into it.
Black/Green goes into pin 4, Pink goes into pin 16, and Violet/Yellow goes into pin 2.
In order to do the install right, you can tap into the red/orange wire in the back of your factory stereo with the Blue wire from the OTIS. This will cause the OTIS to shut off when the key goes off.
Just a couple things I would watch for.
One of those sites told me it was a good Idea to splice the the remote wire (blue) into the same pin as the constant (pink)... This will work, but the EVIC or OTIS will never shut off. If you leave the jeep sit for a couple days in cold weather, the battery will die.
Also, for anyone who is reading this but doesn't have the Wiring harness, I just used the Power cable for a Floppy disk drive out of a computer... It fits the pins perfectly. I cut the ends off of some CAT5 networking cable to use to run from the EVIC to under the dash. It's all shielded and nice, and is just stiff enough that It's easy to route.
On a side note, I just spliced into the wires behind the OBDII connector with solder and electrical tape, but you can get snap on wire splices that are water tight and look good at any electronics store.[/img]
