| Post subject: | No power from cigar lighter outlet? |
My sister tried to use her gps unit but there was no power. So I went to pepboys and replaced the burnt 20a mini fuse in slot 3. Tried again, still no power. The gps works on the rear outlet, but wont work on the front even when the engine is on. Any ideas? also I noticed where she should have a big ol fuse box thing for daytime running lights, there was none. So If I got one would it work? and is it a dealer only sort-of thing? help |

pop out the cigar lighter unplug it and test the plug with a test light. I had my rear outlet get hot and quit working. Some plastic melted inside and the rivet loosened up. If its the socket, try to repeen the rivet. |

Currently at Don Davis in Arlington, tx.. Service rep said $30 to cut and program the key, we shall see, also said the key fob costs $160 so my $60 ebay find was good! They are also checking the cig lighter, the weird noise the A/C makes by the glovebox, and to see if she needs a relay to have daytime runnning lights or not.. been here for about 30 mins.. maybe another 2-3 hours to go.. |

I don't think DRLs were an option for U.S. model KJs which would explain the empty socket in the fuse block. The weird A/C noise could be the blower motor assembly on it's way out (it's located directly behind the glovebox and is a pretty easy DIY replacement |

Service rep said the DRL would require extra wiring. Cig lighter had a broken plastic piece preventing it from working, now works. $29.95 to have the key cut and programmed!! Thanks yall! |

Don't have the one off my new assembly, but you can call a dealer and find out what it is. I think I paid around $120-130 for the assembly (motor and blower cage). I also did a write-up over on JKJ when I installed it so you can check that out. |
