Thinking to keep things very very clean, so Im thinking of instead of wiring everything into my existing fuse panel, I will get a second fuse panel, specifically for things like lights, gps, satellite radio, cb, scanner, all those toys. Anyone else here do it, if so, where did you mount the panel, how did you wire it to the battery?

well theres lot's of places to mount it, if you want it convienent for interior use theres plenty of space on the passenger side behind the glove box, or on the driver side under the dash or behind the pull panel when you open the drivers door on the side of the dash

if you want it to have constant power when the ignitions off or on, then just wire it to the batt ?

atleast that would be what i'd do, i always try to keep it simple to avoid confusing myself

I like the idea of wiring it to the ignition that way when I turn off the engine, I don't have to worry about turning off my hellas, gps, sat, cb, etc, assuming there all running (and that may be a whole new can of worms)

Check out painless wiring. They have a great selection of fuse panels, very easy to install. I have used several of their products in the past and was considering using one of their 7 circuit weatherproof panels for the same reason and installing it under the hood since there is very limited space under the dash.

I will second the painless circuit boss. I have the 7 circuit model. Gives you 3 constant how circuits and 4 igdition switched. Ive got the CB/Ham radios and fog lights wired to the switched power and aux Cig lighter outlets to the constant hot. easy install and safer than splicing into existing circuits. helps keep all your added stuff isolated from the rest of the vehicle wiring. The only things I dont have running through it are my vector 400w power inverted and my air compressor, these are wired directly to the battery.

BTW, I mounted my circuit boss inside the armrest compartment. I never used the space for cd's or storage. I terminated all the wires to a radio shack barrier strip with screw terminale. To add a device I just run the wire to the terminal strip and screw it down. REALLY easy.

Check out my thread on my mods (in my sig line) I have two 6-circuit fuse panels mounted to the panel under the steering wheel. There is a photo ( about 1/2 way down 2nd page) in there showing both panels with descriptions on them as well. I put these in for all of my lighting and power supply for my lockers.

I haven't done it yet, but I have an auxiliary fuse panel from a '91 Camaro that uses standard size fuses that I will install. I think it holds about six fuses. I will split it so three are always hot and then use a high capacity relay to supply the other three with ignition-switched power.
