Post subject:  Rear Speaker Mods

I don't like the location of my Libby's rear speakers in the door panels, poor sound quality. I'm looking for ideas. Has anybody modified their sound systems and moved their rear speakers?

i haven't done it...it actually just popped in my mind when i read your post....how about moving them to the top of the side panels in the rear cargo area.....they are flat and slightly angled toward the center. i think there is room behind there.

What about right on the ceiling area. Make a special enclosure and mount it up by the back of the heads pointing forward. Or angled by the door pointing towards the passengers.

You could also put them into your headrests using a quick disconnect when you need to remove them to lower the seats. The head rest isn't for comfort, it is to prevent whiplash during a rearender. The speakers won't really change much affect there.

How about going ahead and putting speakers in the headrests along with moving the rear door speakers into the rear panels? There's head units out there that would let you change the location of where the sound is coming out of right? You wouldn't have to worry about disconnecting the ones in the headrests.
