I have a blown door speaker and I picked up some new speakers thinking it would be just the two simple wires and done. I see this amp mounted to the speaker, here we go again. Thanks jeep. I want to keep the factory HU but need new speakers. Do all four door speakers have the amp on them? I need to figure out a good way to do this. Not cool. If there is room I guess I could mount the amp to the door somewhere but if not I might have to make up a bracket. What a pain in the butt. I found a few posts of people making brackets and I might have to give that a try. Just wanted to check and see if anyone else has any good ideas. Thanks.

I replaced all my speakers with infinity component system and a HD deck. When i pulled my old speakers none had an amp, what you are probably looking at is a crossover on the front speakers for the tweeter in the dash.

You got the limited so yes you have amps in the front but not the back. All you have to do is take the amp off and use the 2 wires that are going into the amp for your speakers

You can keep the OEM deck (I did) and add an amplifier and then speakers. Since the OEM deck in this case has low voltage outputs, you'll need an amp that had balanced differential inputs since those terrible converters will do you no good.

The reason you want differential inputs is the signal ground is isolated from chassis ground; this is not the case with most amps on the market today. Basically, you add RCA ends onto the decks outputs and plug it into the amp. If your amps signal and chassis grounds are common, you will destroy the decks outputs.

The only amps I know of that have differential inputs are from JL Audio (Not e series or TMA).

Most aftermarket speakers are not compatible with your OEM amp since most will be 4 ohm and the amp is optimized for 2 ohm. You will not break anything, but the amps power out will be cut in half and you may get higher levels of distortion if you crank it.

The other option is to replace the deck with aftermarket and then replace the speakers. If you have plans to add an amp one day, you might as well skip this step.
