ABS module location?

Post subject:  ABS module location?
Not sure if this is the right section...

Can anyone help me find the location where this module goes? I was told by a Jeep dealer that it needed replacing, so I ordered it. After three weeks it has finally come in, but I'm not sure where it goes. :(

Ok, I found where it goes and got the new part in... but, now the ABS light is flashing. Before, I had the MIL, Brake and ABS lights on solid and the error code was for the Rear Speed sensor. (It wasn't getting power from the module according to the Jeep dealership.)

Does this module need programming of some sort?

Next... I took it for a little test drive. Now the Brake and ABS lights are back on solid, but no MIL light so no error codes to tell me what's up. :(

abs has a self diagnostic but you'll need a scan tool, close to autozone or advance?

But the Jeep is not throwing any codes when I scan it. Is there a different port for the ABS?

ABS faults aren't cleared by disconnecting the battery, and they're kept for 50 starts, and if you put in a new abs controller (CAB) it has to be programmed

that's as much as i can tell you :(

edit:
same port as the pcm but i don't know if scangauge can perform ABS diags or programs

i'm tryin to remember where the abs diag is on a drb III, i think it's under miscellaneous

Thanks for the reply Jeepin. Looks like I'll have to call my dealer then, huh. I'm assuming they are the only ones who can program it. :(

like i said, can give autozone or advance a shot, pretty sure they got a DRBIII and the other one and they'll let ya use it too

So far all the places around me just have a generic scan tool. Am I correct in assuming these will do no better than my ScanGauge? I need a place with a real DRB III, correct.

Sorry to keep harping on the same question, but the Jeep doesn't have plates at the moment, so I don't want to run out somewhere if it's not going to work. If I had plates, I would run around and test the different ones each place has.

Yep the only place that can reprogram that module is a dealership with a DRBIII or StarScan.95% of all scanners sold will not read ABS or SRS codes,you need to get into the higher grade scanners for that and then they are even limited.The only place that can do it all is the dealership with there specific scanners and access to the company's website with the programs.It's not going to be cheap,depends on how long it takes to program it,some modules take longer then others.I once had to totally reprogram a '02 Caddy STS(all modules),took about 220 hours non-stop and what a bill that was(non warranty),the old battery charger got a workout since the key needs to be turned to the run postion for the entire programming and battery voltage can not drop below a certain voltage either.
