Sirrius Sat. Module Install

Can the Sirrius satellite radio module hook up to any stereo besides a Chrysler unit?

Is it a internal receiver in the HU that came with your jeep or an external you bought later?

Its the one that came with the Jeep. I think the previous owner had a lifetime subscription on the radio as it still gets all the channels. I'm not about to call sirrius and ask though. Its also the reason I have not replaced the radio. I really don't like the stock radio that came with my Jeep, but I don't want to give up the free sirrius hence it would be nice to attach the sat receiver to a better radio. Plus CD's get stuck in the unit as the eject button only works 1 out 100 presses.

hmm im not sure there is a way. I beleive that the module is inside the HU. pull the HU and check though, I could be wrong. If you had the sirius ID then you could change over to a new receiver, but since you dont have the account of the previous owner it would not work...

I know on some HU's it is sirius ready, but you must buy an external receiver that will plug up to integrate into the HU itself. If this is the case with this receiver then you may be able to switch it out for a new one.

so long story short you may want to pull out the head unit to check and see if the receiver is external. if you could get a hold of the previous owner you may see if he will transfer his sub, over to a new account... long shot but maybe!
