I'm not sure how many Ham radio guys are on LOST but here is a few quick photos of the install of my Yaesu FT-857d radio and antennas. The VHF/UHF antenna is a NMO style roof mount and the screwdriver style HF antenna mount is constructed out of angle iron and mounted to the spare tire. Just finished it up today.

Good luck with the HF antenna in that location. I tried mounting mine on the rear swing gate but the fuel pump in the 3.7s throws out so much RFI that I wound up using a ball mount on the front left fender - hopefully the diesel pump is better behaved. Looks like a nice install, I take it you didn't want to separate the control head on the 857?

I went ahead and moved this to the Electronics section where all the other radio topics are.

Yeah I separated the control head, those pictures are taken with my phone so it's hard to see. The main part of the radio is mounted under the back seat. My jeep is a gas model now. I ended up trading the CRD in a couple years back. So far no noise with the fuel pump. I haven't driven it far and haven't tried anything but 20 meters. I know on my patrol car (trailblazer) I get noise on 40 meters from the fuel pump. I'm hoping not to have to much issue. I like mounting the HF on the roof top NMO with an adapter when I'm sitting out playing radio, but I'm scared the mount will rip out of the roof with the heavy HF antenna on there driving at highway speeds so the tire mount will be my main location for travel.
