I know this has been talked about a few 100000times. However I can't find what I'm looking for. I'm looking to install a EVIC in my 2005 Liberty. I want everything to work correctly so what partnumber or evic do I need? Thanks |

Checkout your local wrecking yard. I've seen a few KJ's & KK's in there and a used EVIC can be had for as little as $50. Look for the Limited's they often have EVIC's and the menu button on the console. Only EVIC's have the menu button. Be sure to cut off a piece of the harness too that plugs into the EVIC. You can easily fabricate a new harness once you have the plug. |

I just put an EVIC in my '06. It has part # 56010438AD (from an '04) and has compass, temp, avg mpg, timer, TPMS, Homelink and sunroof controls. Everything works except I am having some trouble getting the Homelink to train. |

I know it's a dumb question but have you followed the instructions in the owner's manual? There's a phone number to call for help; 1-800-355-3515 or a website; http://www.homelink.com If you follow the links you'll find this; http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf |

Be careful, you need and evic from 2004 and up to have the outside temperature to work. If you get one from 2003, you will get "--" instead of your temperature reading due to the fact that previously to 2003, the sensor was wired to the bcm-evic, since 2004, the sensor goes to the pcm-bcm-evic. The programming of the evic must not be the same. Also, don't expect the temperature to work right away after you install the right evic. It will show erratic temperature at first than it will show the right temperature after a while. Took me 2 days to figure it out. You're looking for an evic from the 2004:56010438AC, 56010438AD, from the 2005/2006: 56010520AD or 56010527AD. Don't forget you will also need the bracket p/n 5072348AA and wiring harness p/n 5072348AA to install it. Usually wrecking yard would sell you the pigtail and the bracket for quite cheap. Good luck. |
