Want to put an EVIC in my 2006 Limited and I have found plenty of EVIC from 2004 on ebay but I can't determine if it will work. I'm not worried about the temp sensor working as I think I can work around that.
So question I guess is, is the 2004 version PCI bus ?, I have searched but just can't find what I need, plenty of info on earlier models though.

I have a 2003 EVIC 56042756AJ (Homelink and TPMS) in a 2006.
Everything works except the temp. 2006 uses a PCI bus as does 2004, but takes it's temp from a different source for the engine management.

Had my eye on a nice EVIC from an 04, but it ended up selling for a much higher price than I expected, auction link:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360241523700

I expected it to sell for maybe around $50, but in the last few seconds it jumped too 178.50 USD

Guess I need to keep looking

Are you the one I was trying to outbid???? Actually I was bidding on that one but got outbidded. Found another one for about 60$. I also have a 2006 and I just installed a 2004 evic p/n 56010438AC and it works great. Just installed it 3 days ago. The temperature takes a while to work once you install it though. You can also get one from a dodge ram (56049707AC -Dodge Truck Otis HMLink 56049706AC -Dodge Truck Otis) but those are Otis. All the liberty overhead console (evic and otis) are pci bus. The ones from the cherokee started working with CAN bus in 2004 I believe which makes them not compatible with the liberty. The other difference with the liberty is that in 2004, the ambient temp sensor, instead of being routed directly to the bcm than to the evic like the previous versions, is passing by the pcm-bcm-evic which makes the temp reading impossible if you install a 2003 on a 2005. All the other options will work.

Maybe, but I was not going to go more than $65, easy to beat, but someone got emotional. I was watching it and when it went over $70 I was out of the "game". I set my limit and don't go over it, there are always plenty of other evic for sale, you need to be willing to wait.
Thanks for the extra info.
