I am interested in buying the 48" PlasmaGlow FireStorm Scanning LED Tailgate Bar with Amber Turn Signals [http://tiny.cc/o0bbe] and the 57" StreetGlow LED Side Bars [http://tiny.cc/fdha1]. I plan on getting the Trailer Plug Controller to make the install easier. However, if I use the Trailer Plug Controller, I believe I still have to hardwire the reverse light and also hardwire the constant 12v terminal because the scanning function on the bar requires it to cycle through. One of my concerns is the spare tire covering the tailgate bar; I am hoping it doesn't cover too much of it. I would assume the LEDs would shine through the spokes of the spare tire though. When I first got my KJ, the first mod I wanted to do was to clear my turn signals and side markers since I disliked the amber color. Since apparently they do not offer this mod for a 2006 KJ, someone recommended that I embrace the amber color. Thus, I thought this LED tailgate bar and these LED side bars would compliment this recommendation very well since they both sport the amber color. How do you guys think these would look on the KJ?

I was wondering if any of you have installed these, or any other LED tailgate bars and/or side bars, on your KJ. If so, please post pics and share how the install went. Thanks in advance for your help!

Recon does make some pretty cool accessories. In regards to the LED tailgate bar, I like PlasmaGlow's amber scanning pattern better than Recon's. In regards to the LED side bars, I like Recon's Big Rig "Ice" Running Lights but StreetGlow's LED Side Bars have the same functions as Recon's but cost about $65 less.

No one has a LED tailgate bar and/or side bars installed on their KJ??

I am going to buy the 48" PlasmaGlow FireStorm Scanning LED Tailgate Bar with Amber Turn Signals from AutoAnything [http://tiny.cc/nge13]. There is an optional Trailer Plug Controller offered to dramatically reduce installation time. My KJ has no trailer hitch... Thus, the Trailer Plug Controller is of no use for me. Am I correct on this? I am unsure if I am missing something that will enable me to still use the Trailer Plug Controller. Even if I could use the Trailer Plug Controller, I would still have to hardwire the reverse light and constant 12v because the "scanning" function on the bar requires it to cycle through. If I don't use the Trailer Plug Controller, I am going to have to splice the wires. Does anyone know what wires I have to splice?
