Stock Radio amp hook up

Does anyone know if you can hook up an Amp and subwoofer to a stock stereo?

Grab a line out converter and hook it into your stock stereo.

I have the cd/cassette stereo in a 03 Limited KJ Does anyone know is there an aftermarket deck that will et me still us my volume controls on the steering wheel :JEEPIN:

Yes i have a 10" Pioneer and a 300 Watt Amp...PERFECT

You have to tap into the rear wires behind your stereo with a converter. Small little box with speaker out. Easy to do.

All reputable manufacturers of decks have 1/8" inputs on the back for steering wheel control adaptors. Companies like PAC and Metra make these adaptors. Pretty much every deck made by Alpine, Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer etc in the last decade works with steering wheel controls. Sony decks 20 yrs ago could be made to work with steering wheel controls... just sayin'

if you want to keep the stock deck, you're far better off buying an amp with differential balanced inputs and wiring RCAs direct. LOCs use transformers that have no business in audio and the cheaper they are, the worse they will sound. If you have premium sound LOCs aren't an option anyway.

save up for a new head unit its sooooo worht it especially if you like to change systems alot like me

I still have the stock head unit.... not sure why changing to an aftermarket deck would make it any easier to change anything else. I have a 500/5 wired to a Stealthbox some JL components up front and the stock rears. I could change any one of these things without even looking at the deck.

I also use a JL CL-SES and a PX-DX to automatically route signal into the aux input from my video, CB, Sirius, iPod and nav. I could also change any of these components without without anything to do with the deck as well.

Unless there is a feature the aftermarket deck has that you need, spending $ on it is a waste 99% of the time. If all you want to do is add an amp and sub, this would fall into that 99%.

unless you have the nav headunit the stock ones are also extremely limited in changing any sort of bass related setting. the nav head units dont allow those changes either but if you pay for it its worth it to keep it. idk why anyone would spend all that money for jl components and sub and keep the poopy stock head unit. itd be like a dj hooking a diskman to their speaker system at a concert.

i think I am gonna buy an aftermarket Head unit so I can control the EQ settings better and have subwoofer control.
