| Post subject: | Anyone have the measurements of an under seat sub woofer? |
I’m thinking of making my own sub box that will fit under either one of the front (power) seats. I guess the first question is can this even be done with power seats? Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what the measurements are that I have to work with? Finally, can anyone give me a recommendation for a sub speaker and amp that I can use? I’m not looking for top quality or anything like. I already replaced my head unit (Kenwood Excelon KDC-X494) and speakers (JL Audio Evolution TR650-CXi) and in the process I lost a lot of deep bass. I’m just looking for a bit of bass to fill in what I lost from the stock (upgraded) Infinity speakers. I’m certainly not looking to blow the doors off and I honestly don’t even listen to my music too loud either – so I want to bass to work at low volume levels. I’m looking to spend as little as possible for something that will last and sound good enough. |

Thanks for getting back to me. I have seen the Mopar sub box on some web sites but none of them gives the dimensions. Will that fit under the electric seats or will they only fit under the manual adjusting seats? I also have but warmers – I’m not sure if that takes up even more space on the bottom of the seat or not. Actually, while I’m at it, another question –Mopar says the sub box won’t fit the ‘03’s & ‘04’s due to a special adaptor that is needed that is no longer being made by Mopar. Does anyone know if that adaptor is only needed when using the stock head unit or does the sub only have one bundle connection wire coming out of it and not regular speaker fittings? |

I have this under my seat: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-U0yOkGd9kk ... -wOOx.html It fills the space under the seat pretty well with barely any room left. |

well your right about needing the adapter, i have an 04 and i dont have the stock radio so iu had to play alot with the wires till i managed to connect the sub directly to the rear speakers (kinda bad job) and it works ok so bottom line; mounts under the seat (power, no warmers) and doesnt need an adapter only if u have a good electrician (stere guy) |

I have an Infinity BassLink in the back. Nice easy self-contained unit. No, it does not fit unde rthe seat, but it comes with easy mounting brackets and does not take up much space. I see them on local craigslist all the time for $100 or less.

That sub is the one I would get if I wasn't so strapped fo space. I'm a huge infinity fan. |

If you own the vehicle, you have the measurements already.... you just have to check them ... no? |

It will not fit under the seats however I mounted mine to the driver side trim in the back of the jeep and it works just fine. I didn't want anything to blow the doors off, I just wanted a little more bass and its working great. |
