Okay. So I am looking at setting up a CB in my KJ and have just a couple of questions.

First, Has anyone mounted a cb antenna in the stock radio antenna location? I cannot put it on the roof due to clearance issues and would prefer it be in a stock appearing location.

Second, What is a good antenna selection? I work at a Freightliner dealer and can get just about any major brand I want at a healthy discount. I know the stock Freightliner set up works pretty well for most guys but my set up in highschool had no thought to it and would only go about a half a mile at best ha ha. So I wanna do this one right.

Third, Kind of part of one and two. Do the cb and am/fm combo antennas work well?

Thanks for the info guys!

INC had a CB/AM/FM antenna in the stock location. Might be able to find his post.

AM/FM/CB antennas are terrible. I mounted my antenna to the DS fender using a stainless steel bracket made for a Dodge Ram. There's already a hole in the fender lip under the hood to secure the bracket with a bolt. Mounting the antenna in such a fashion tells the world that you're a serious enthusiast.

Yeah I saw yours JL and I kind of liked that. I was possibly thinking though of buying another stock antenna mount then and mounting it to the driver side. I am kind of OCD when it comes to symmetry. So I would probably get matching antennas and run the cb off of one and the radio off of the other. I read somewhere that the magic number so to say for CB cable length is 18ft. Any merit to this?

None whatsoever if your antenna is tuned correctly.
