Post subject:  Yet another iPod question...

I have searched, I have read, I have laughed, I have cried...wait a sec....

I have an 06 with the RBQ (In Dash six disk) that I want to use an ipod on.

I have looked at many options but out of what i have read none of them give me the asnwers i want.

1. Will any of these work with the steering wheel controls?

2. Will i be able to scroll through my playlists?

3. Would it be better to just have a aftermarket installed?

4. I don't want to spend tons of cash, anyone have good FM Transmitors?

Thanks

for the cost of a factory Ipod hookup (with install) that will work with the controls. you should be able to get a decent aftermarket H/U with an integrated Ipod hookup

X2...the cost of adapters and installation are so bad that just buy a new head unit makes it worth it. You don't have to spend a ton on one either, seems like they all work with ipods these days.

That's what I plan on doing. I run my MP3s from my phone anyways (LG Dare) so unless the stereo has a USB port on it like the one in my my wife's car does I can't control the functions anyways. When I was driving the POS Dodge Caliber I was able to plug directly into the stereo through an AUX jack and had a tab of velcro stuck to the dash that I stuck my phone to. Worked great like that. Not sure how I'm going to mount it in the Jeep with an FM transmitter. I may get one of these... http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-ram-a- ... embly.html

I actually started off with an FM transmitter that plugged into the lighter. It works great now as a recharger/stand. I drop in the ipod and use a short wire to plug into the aux port on the front of the stereo. My hu has the usb port but I haven't really needed to use it.
