Post subject:  EVIC Installation

My question is in the form of the actual mount itself. I have a 2006 Jeep liberty and have discovered that when i remove the light i have a piece of foam block that makes a "indentation" in the headliner.

I have the following:
EVIC and mount/housing/pigtale
25foot leads
Soder Pencil
Soder
New Pins (for OBD connector for clean installation)
Crimpers
Electrical tape
Adhesive Shrink Tube
a weekend
and some adult beverages...

Mocking things into place it looks like the mounting plate that affixes itself to the roof does not have the proper depth to apear stock or uniform fitting.

Any tips on the acutal mount, and hole diameter and depth itself. I have searched but cant seem to find this in any great detail.

I do. But where does it actually get mounted....any tips on glue to use on the "glue here" guides.

On an initial mock up it seems the foam headliner support blocks it from seating prpoerly...i could be wrong

you dont need to glue it in it fits between the roof and the headliner to tight to make things easy on you, you will want to drop the front half of the headliner so you dont crease the headliner.

From what I have seen you can use some double faced tape in the area that says "Glue Here" 3M makes some killer stuff that I have used on other cars without issue.

I just installed the evic in my 06 about three weeks ago and did the actual wiring a little over a week ago. I don't know how this fits when it actually comes as a factory installed option, but that pan fits inside the headliner loose. Their is about an inch or two from the plastic evic pan to the metal roof so gluing or double side tape wont work ( I do have the sunroof though). As per a previous post it does take a fair amount of pressing together for the evic to snap into the plastic pan. You most definitely will make it easier if you pull down the headliner so you can get one hand inside the headliner holding the pan and the other hand pressing up on the evic to snap it together.

Good luck

Thanks for the information that helped a lot in figuring out the right type of EVIC for my system
