| Post subject: | How to ground for a CB |
I finally found a good place to get a ground for things like a CB or other electronic device. Pop down the knee bolster and you'll see some long bolts sticking up off something on the steering. There's already a nut on it, but plenty of extra bolt sticking out (2 or 3 more nuts would fit). I got a circle crimp connector for the ground wire and put that over the bolt and tightened it down with an 8mm x 1.25 nut (and lock washer). Perfect! and no need to use the seat bolts. Also, that add-a-fuse thing is great. Still haven't found a perfect solution for what type of connector to use to attach the CB, but the one I am using now is a Vanco Quick Disconnect 2-pin (part #BL1). It's a short lead with a connector on each end, I just cut it in half and soldered them onto the wires. The guy at the place I got it from said that they didn't have the individual connectors for it anywhere.
