I am waiting too. Until then I just plan on getting my intercooler cleaned once every 50k or so. :)

Possible, but we will see. A member with a hobby machine shop is in process of building a couple of prototypes to my general spec's/idea's, somewhat like the one I designed for the TDI a couple years ago. I think he hopes to have a couple of prototypes done here by end of the month, then we will see where we stand. That is why I am stll running a EHM instead of RACOR or Provent CCV filter.

Keep the faith oldnavy! I'm still running my Provent but tired of emptying it - I simply cannot manage to do it w/o making a mess. I have a Fumoto on my oil pan - if I can get rid of the provent I'll be able to throw away my box of rubber gloves! ;)

And no, doing an EHM out here in Cali is just asking for trouble - they get pretty prickly about emissions stuff.

I need to call and check up on the CCV and see how it is coming along.

As for CA and their crazy legislators, imagine not being able to spank your kid that is acting up.

My wife and I don't have kids but yeah, we just roll our eyes at some of the stuff our policitians say. But for work (I'm in high-tech and she's in bio-tech) this is the place to be and we love living out here. Every time we go back to visit our families in Oklahoma (we both grew up there, in Tulsa) and see our friends w/ huge houses for 1/10th the price, few limits on gun ownership, etc. we still think of Northern California as home. I do think when I retire I'd like to move to Arkansas (love spending time out there, there's just no work) but that's 35 years away.

Until then I'll keep up the fight to keep my guns and my diesel (although being good treehuggers we run B100 in our CRD)

Chris.
I put a 18 or so inch plastic hose on the provent drain and then a small ball valve at the bottom located down beside the engine. Very easy to drain.

I replaced the CCV on my Jetta TDI with a Dynaflow CCV that has a removable mesh filter that captures the oil and needs to changed when saturated. I sure would like one for my CRD. Was this OLD NAVY CCV going to do the same thing and what ever happened to this mod?

I don't think he ever found anybody to build them to his design. He no longer has his liberty, and I'm pretty sure the project is quite dead. You could PM him. I haven't seen him post in quite a while.

There is a member trying to get one going from my idea for the one I did for the VW TDI's a few years back. When he was here for my diesel GTG in Oct he said he was still working on the thing.

I'd like to voice my support for this. I am currently running a stock intake, but an incredible amount of oil is blown into the intake when we tow our travel trailer. The Provent seems like a half-solution at best. We are battling a driveability problem with our CRD, which I suspect is either a clogged EGR or gummed-up vanes in the VGT. The CRD really needs a final suitable solution to this bit of factory engineering.

I agree that a CRD specific solution would be nice, but the Provent works quite well. Not sure what the "half solution" is referring to?

From what I've been reading, the Provent is rather large for a clean install in the engine compartment, plus it requires some fitting gymnastics to get it to work. It sounded like the Old Navy filter was smaller and unassuming, and easier to plumb in.

I read some old posts that mentioned that Mann was goiing to release a smaller Provent model. Did this ever happen, or is the Provent 200 the smaller model?

The 200 has been out a while. I had heard rumors about something smaller coming out, but as far as I know, it hasn't yet.
