Any news on the new ccv vent!!????
We are in delay due to pronlem (sic) with test rigs and what looks like some design issues that may need resolving. The thing is trying to keep it fitting under the engine cover, stopping the oil flow and at an affordable price. I am not really crazy about running with the EHM done to the Jeep, but sometimes we have to things we dislike.

You should run down to your dealer and ask about a redesigned DC offered CCV Vent. That is the one we are talking about in this thread. It's supposedly been redesigned and Vox got one on his last service visit to the dealer...

Redisigned??? Then they didn't redisign it for the new MB V6 which has same CCV setup as yet. Believe me MB will do their $60k plus cars first I do believe. But hey I have been wrong before, but I think this is a BS story from a dealer.

That's what we're trying to prove and Vox is going to post some pictures here of the supposedly redesigned CCV vent. That's why I keep hammering this topice to the top of the list - I want this resolved. DZL_LOU is also checking into it as well....

My 05 Libby has been in the dealership since last Monday. Waiting on parts for TC and Tran Pump. I will check with Tech tomorrow morning to see if they are widely distributing the redesigned CCV and if I'm waiting on the redesigned Trans Pump.

Did anything ever come of this? Is there any verification of a DC redesigned CCV vent for the CRD as reported by Vox Fatalis in this thread???

I think the service guy didn't explain it very well to me...

Looking under the hood, the CCV is as filthy as it was when I brought it in. However, there is a new elbow joint on the hose from the CCV where it connects to the intake above the turbo. I'm going to take some snapshots (as best as I can) and post them later... after my lovely wife gets done working me around the house...

GOD I love vacation... I get to take time off of work... so I can be whipped into cleanining house, etc.

Been reading with interest. You call the modification to the CCV by using the Elephant hose. I also own a 2001 Dodge Cummins. We had the same problem with what we called the puke tube. The CCV has a bottle at the front of the engine. and if you had not cleaned out the bottle it will overflow and get oil in you radiator fins. And would get oil everwhere even if you cleaned out the bottle. Just a bad design. But it made the tree huggers happy  So most guys would run a hose from the engine to the back of the cab and stopped all the problems. As soon as I got my 2006 CRD I did the same thing and hooked a hose to the CCV and ran it over the engine and along the frame to the rear doors.... Problem solved. Been running this mod. on my Dodge for over 6 years now and no problems.
