http://www.edgeproducts.com/pdf/JeepLibertyCRD-TJModuleMSRP.pdfThis does boost fooling and virtually eliminates the lag. I love it. I mean..... this one guy that is out of warranty loves it........

The charts they show on that document range from 2900-3700 RPM. Our CRD rarely goes over 2500 RPM. I am much more interested in what is going on down in the lower RPM ranges. Seems silly for them to present a chart showing the torque dropping off.

I can tell you that the HP and TQ gains are shown to be minimal but in reality the power comes on earlier along with being more than stock so it is a win win. Mine also hold OD better and shifts better because I drive with less throttle input going the same speed as before so it doesn't shift down as much as before.

Do you know if anything other than fuel pressure is changed with this unit? The last email I got from them told me that it was boosted, but they wouldnt say how much. I know the ad says boost pressure monitored etc.. but just because it is monitored doesnt mean it is controlled. If they could control all those things they say are monitored, perhaps they could also control EGR operation, shift points, add a turbo timer etc.

I plugs into the Map sensor too so it boost fools as far as I know. I had a Dodge with a Cummins and that is how the Edge worked on that. Fools fuel pressure and boost. It probably doesn't raise the pressure much over stock it just makes more pressure sooner.......

My 05 won't do that , wonder if the 06s traction control/stababilty system causeing this?

I know brake boosting for a dead stop in full-time is a blast  ......puts the head against the rest in a hurry

True. My record and insurance company would show that I am a safe driver...hence my concern. You gauge how much of a gap you need between cars to merge or cross a street based partly on the performance of the vehicle. The safe driver of a Corvette will cross a street with a smaller gap between vehicles than would the safe driver of a Chevette. In this case, I've got a vehicle that exhibits very good pickup most of the time, but is unpredictable off the line. So I end up driving like I'm in the Chevette. I'd rather not have to do that. I'd rather have more predictable performance so that I don't make an error in judgment, and neither will anyone else driving my Jeep.
EXACTLY! In my Lightning I could shoot across, etc, because I had an instant ~400rwhp, in this thing, there are times when I expect it to go, and it has to 'think' about it (aka turbo lag), when I don't expect it. Hell, the other day I was turning normal, plenty of room, and for whatever reason it took it what seemed like an eternity to get off its butt! Hence, why I now brake boost in those situations. Plus DC traffic is a PITA too.

Initially, I scared myself a few times. I guess my brain has adapted to the CRD capabilities. The turbo lag is inversely proportional to the gap in traffic. Smaller the gap, longer the lag. How does it know?

As for holding the brake, I found that all I need is to hold enough brake to drag along at <1mph and just off idle, about 1000-1200RPM and it launches smartly.

I have an 05 also. Brake boosting works fine in mine, at least the one time I tried it, but if you are driving down the road and apply brake and throttle for more than a few seconds at the same time the engine will reduce its output. Not sure what the difference in the two is. Time for some testing!

An FYI for you CRD guys......."turbo lag" was invented to give the guys with the V8's an even chance.

I don't know if it counts for anything, but am I the only one to have had my CRD up on only three wheels? I whipped a u turn real quick and gave a little too much skinny pedal, and scared the crap out of everyone in the Jeep, including myself.

Cant say I've done that in the CRD yet, I will have to try it though

The difference is the order in which you apply the pedals. If you're on the accelerator and apply the brake, the computer cuts the fuel to idle. However, if you're on the brake first and apply the accelerator, the computer will allow it. I use this technique to run up to 1000-1200 rpm before launching in tight situations.

I had my Scangauge hooked up today. Interesting observation. Just mashing on the pedal gets me about 18 lbs of boost. Power braking peaks the boost at a little over 20lbs. There is a two second scan delay in data. Maybe it missed the boost peak in the "normal" acceleration or just caught the peak on this particular scan. Don't know but it feels like it has a little more oomph when I power brake.
