Because it is no longer needed

I go by the evic when running but I always check it by "hand". I meant measuring it by using my brain, not a calculator or evic. I wish it had Instant MPG as well as Avg. Do our cars have away to tell hours on the engine like most US diesel trucks?

All of the "boxes" and "chips" for the CRD do nothing except for fooling the ECU into thinking that the rail pressure and the boost are lower than they are so that the ECU will raise them accordingly. This is a bad way to do it as the ECU was already programmed for both components to work at their safe maximum levels without stressing longevity of the components. There are no actual programmers for the ECU since the module is locked and encrypted by Bosch, and I believe only one company has attempted to burn their own code into the chip (InMotion) but I still have yet to see conclusive studies or documents from them as to how they actually do what they claim. To each their own I suppose...

Maybe you could get inmotion to have you do a write up on their tune. That would definantly interest me, and I bet you could do all kinds of testing on it. Interested?

This is NOT TRUE! Chip tune has new chexsums and mappings and alot is changed,As a Diesel Tech I can tell you that inmotion chip tune is the way to go,all of my TDI's and I have had 6 of them all have been Chiped from the day I drove off the Stealership lot.

Got Diesel, do you have any first hand knowledge of any TDI's or MB's that have been chipped for LOTS of miles (like 300,000+) without significant or related engine problems? Chipping sounds good, but I need to know more about longevity. I want this thing to last. Thanks, Mike

I am worried that the dealer will be able to detect the flash, and will void the warrenty. Old navy mentioned something about this happening to one of the gasser guys in the F37 thread.

Had mine done yesterday and no flash from SP stage 2 that I removed minutes before delivery to dealer. TC was changed with ball joints, truck runs fine but I have a AC fan rectifier that blew so back she goes. I will replace SP after that work is done. I did not drive it more than 15 miles or so but she seems to run fine and still gets same MPG as stock.

The beauty and advantage of running a module instead of a flash or tune to the ECU is that when you go to the dealer you can just take the box and harness off and then put it back on after. The dealer can notice a tune on the ECU!! And with all the troubles people have been having with the Jeep Liberty (if you look on line you'll see!!) I can promise you that you'll be going to the dealer for a few repairs before 60000 miles. Then you'll just have to send your ECU back in to get reflashed again and again. A module is much easier.

I put a Predator Module on my 05 in August. Much more power and about 2% better milage. My dealer told me to unplug it when I take it in for service. He personally didn't care, but if a DC rep. happened to be there, they might.

Hello?

Been lurking for a while, and I have seen a few chips discussed. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the TDC power box?

Thanks

Back on page one this was asked. No responses that I've seen.
