Well, we are at $3.49 for b20 and 3-5 cents more for dino around here (Salt Lake) and about $2.90 for reg up to $3.10-$3.15 for premium.... 50-60 cents MORE for diesel is absurd too me!!!! It seems that they just try to get a more profit on Diesel around here. When gas goes down, diesel is higher, and gas prices come up, the gap closes....this past spring, it dipped below gas for a awhile....Just does not make sense. But maybe these prices will force more companies into Bio production, bringing that praice down.

Good think about the CRD...the brakes work with the engine off (not affected by vacuum loss like gassers)...the steering is heavy but doable on gentle curves. You do have to turn the key back to the first position to keep the odometer working.

If the engine isn't rotating, neither is the transmission pump. Which powers the transmission lubrication system. If the vehicle is still moving, you have rotating components in the transmission with no lubrication...

On the other hand, diesels typically don't add fuel if they don't have to. Merely letting off the pedal and letting the engine brake the vehicle is nearly driving for free, with no interruption to vehicle accessories.

"The federal Energy Information Administration reported that diesel fuel prices reached a national average of $3.303 a gallon, a new record".

Well, I guess I'm really still just a "MiniMiler" instead of a "HyperMiler". I haven't blocked off the front grill, made a boattail rearend, put a fuel cutoff switch in, added fender skirts, ect. Those guys/gals at that site go all out. I do the common sense things and maybe a bit more. I also think the InMotion Tuning Module would help but I will have to wait until I finish this tamk of fuel for the competition.

I'm happy right now getting 24 real city miles with a lift and a bit larger tires. I need to get 25mpg combined to hit my projected total tank miles of 540-550.

I did do a 3" handformed CatBack (no muffler) pipe that really seems to help Mid and High Range RPMs and it sounds pretty good IMO

Darby, did you ever do a write-up on that mod? I was considering replacing the muffler with a section of 2.5" pipe at the very least, but I'd be interested in the 3" solution as well (but would like some pictures before I dig in.

Diesel is still cheaper then reg here. 99.9 cents a liter, been that way for over a year no change. while gas has been as high as 123.9 a liter now it is 107.9
Driving to edmonton gets lower prices about 10 cents less.
But i dont drive much anymore.... :(
Funny thing is my jeep gets 23 mpg and my wifes pontiac wave gets 16 mpg. so much for small cars being more fuel efficient. Her car only has 4700 km on it and it is over a year old so cant say the cost of driving it is breaking the bank

The White House reiterated on Wednesday that oil prices "are too high."

Thank God the Bush team is on the ball

I don't recall anything in the Constitution about the President's duties to regulate the price of anything.

Unfortunately, there is nothing in the constitution about a minimum intelligence level for the president either

And we elected him TWICE. Doesn't say much for our intelligence either. :(

We are just now opening one of the worlds largest bio-diesel plants in the world 7 mile south of where I am right now. It is still working out bugs right now. It uses soybeans however. The local co-op only sells B2 for some reason. I have to fill up in Fort Wayne or Goshen to get B20 (30 mile away) they told me. Anybody have any experience using B20 in cold climates? I am not sure about using a food grain for fuel but, since my tax money is going to subsidize the production and it is a little less money going to the terrorist, I plan on using it.

P.S.
The neighbor's dog crapped in my yard this morning and I have never heard that President Bush has come out against it or done anything about it. This darn Bush Administration! When are we going to get the Federal Government to raise the taxes high enough so someone can come out every day and check my yard so they can send six other guys out with a big semi-truck to watch an illegal alien pick up this crap ( a job americans won't do) and take it to an EPA designed disposal facility and file the 20 page documentation of the incident? Maybe the next election in 2008.

Ran b20 all last winter in the Libby and the last several winters in the PSD. Single digit temps are not unheard of here....
No problems at all but I do plug it in when the over night temps hit the 20's or lower.

Same B-20 experience for me. I did not run it below "0" but down to it and my filter head fuel heater was plugged in then.
