sorry, i was running out the door when i saw your post...

What i ment to ask is where does the block heater cord plug into on the motor? did you buy a new heater? or were you just replacing the cord? or just re-running the cord?

yes, im still trying to find out the answer of:

a) do i have a heater
b) is the heater there just dont have the cord

to date no one has been able to tell me or get a pic of where the heater cord plugs into the motor. all i keep getting is "its straped to the check oil dipstick" which mine is not there.

so what im looking for is to see where the cord plugs into the motor, then i can get underneath and look to see if i have one or not.

Here is the cord wrapped to the dipstick.
Where it is plugged into the block I don't know but will look.

Steve,

Unplug that fuel heater... :D

I will have to look this weekend as to where the heater actually goes in the block to answer your question. Mine was on the dipstick, and I routed it to the front and zip tied it to the grill. Works very nicely.

How about paypal? :D

I'll try to look closer this weekend. I'm having a hard time seeing in the dark garage, and its cold.. I will look this weekend to try to figure it out so you can find out if yours has the block heater in the block.

From the Factory service manual:

ENGINE COVER - The insulated engine cover (2) is made of plastic and used cosmetically to cover the top of the engine and greatly reduce engine noise.

As for the block heater on the CRD it is not covered in the service manual. If I thought you wood pay off Skywarn  , and I wouldn't expect you :D , I would remove all of the interference stuff on the left/drivers side of the engine and somewhere behind and below the intake manifold you will find that one of the freeze plug cavities has the block heater installed into it. Maybe the next time I am under the CRD and and have the skid pan off I can see it.
