Well I must have a good one as it shifts just like it is supposed to although sometimes a chore getting into low range. If I understood you correctly DocB you are trying to get between 4W Full, 4W Part, and @2W but you described the shift process of going into 4W Low. The Liberty needs to be moving when going between anything but low and my best results are between 20 and 50. I think the transfer case almost believes you are stopped if you shift while on the barely move then weird things can happen. One other thing, when I am in full time the only difference I feel from 2W is I don't spin the back tires. Part time crabs. Full also has a rear wheel bias so if you are stuck in the soup make sure you are in PT or Lo otherwise the rear trys to pass the front.

Our Libby trans case lights are all funky for about 3 weeks now. After my wife told me about it, I got in it and did a bunch of turns and figure eights and determined that it is the sensor. The lever positions match to what is really going on. Even though the light indicates full time while the lever in in 2wd, the front wheels won't spin in loose traction. In this case, I think its the sensor.

Everything seems to be working fine. I guess it's about time to get the real snow tires on.
Still looking for a set of good chains that clear the brake lines.
