We own land in New Mexico, (7,000 feet) and have seen many elk grazing the sides of the roads at night and early mornings. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven right next to them or had to stop because they were crossing the road.

Thank goodness for aftermarket lights. For this reason, I am ordering my ARB on Monday. Of course I might as well throw in a winch while I'm at it.

To haul the carcass back up onto the road for dinner?
Yeah, a mature bull elk could weigh between 800 to 1,000 pounds, I would definitely need a M8000 winch.

Actually, I’ve seen the Navajo people butchering an Elk after hitting it. I’ve also heard of them butchering horse as well.

Lots of wild horses in that part of the country. They have a round-up every year on the reservation.
