I just got a quote from an independent shop for around $650. Don't have the line item of parts included in the quote, lost it... I am 50,000 so I have a ways to go.

Oh that is great, in Germany I was quoted $1600.

That's a bargain next to my TDI. And my TDI interval is 40k :shock:

I decided to use the dealer since they should know a bit more about this vehicle and have access to any material or instructions if they encounter a problem, a small shop would not have those resources so handy. Its embarrassing to say how much but the European price was not much higher, lol.

I was trying to win the ebay timing belt kit but I got out bid and then the price went through the roof.

I thought it was 60k miles too!! This thread makes me so happy...... I'm at 56k miles right now and thought I had to change the TB soon.
