I really think the ehm into a soda bottle or what have you, is where it's at. There are three easy to use locations avalable, in front of air box, left, and right corners. Dont use the clear or clear braided hoses, (you can to test) they can collapse easily. Once you figure out what you like, swap to the black hose.
I put a large bolt and two hose clamps on the original tube and just tucked it away.
I personally use the passenger side corner as my hide away, and zip tied the tube to the surge bottle (it gets hot, clear tubing do not apply) In this location the vapors seem to blow out of the front grill, it's pretty cool. In this location it does not vent into the cabin air intake. On the drivers corner it does. Also on the drivers corner, if you open your hood while it's wet, water hits the container, and goes into the holes you drilled/cut into it to vent.
I have 30k on the passenger corner, no problems yet. Just empty the bottle or get a new one every once and a while. Oh, and there's NO way vapor is going to freeze in the tube if you zip tie it to the surge bottle.
EDIT:
ATXKJ, there is no, no, no inspection of any sort for diesels in California. You can do whatever the heck you want :P I guess they figured making it illegal to sell them here would take care of the problems. Unless ford gives you a nice kick back.
I dont think there are many Diesels in the state that have DPF's cats or mufflers =D Blocked egr is a common thing. Open ccv is also.
