patracy, on late model cummins, powerchoke and duratrash diesels, the ecm's keep track of regen cycles of the dpf. Retards go crazy with aftermarket tunes and break stuff, without upgrading hardware to support it, then put stock software on the ecm, and cry to the dealerships. They can see the unreasonably low number of regen cycles for abnormally high mileage. 1+1 = 2.
There's a few other things they can look at besides the regen cycles. They just have to know what to look for. Some techs are smart enough to know those points....
None of this has anything to do with our crd's. We dont have DPF's and our ecm does not record anything.
If you break stuff because of over power, and you go to the dealership for warranty work, your a thief.
Agreed, that was never my intention. But if something unrelated to powertrain had an issue. Let's say the AC conked out. I certainly would take it in for that.
in motion does not disable egr, and does not disable the cel. They claimed years ago that their custom tuning could, I don't believe them. I have a IM II long before gde or kerma had anything, and i like it just fine, it'll knock my teeth out, but it's not refined at all. I've had ridiculous shudder since i got the IMII, 40k miles later i have no problems. I have a plate over the egr and i removed the fcv butterfly, and i drive around with a p0401 24/7.
The CEL is part of the issue. The better half can't stand to see it on her "new" car. I don't blame her. Her old honda had a CEL on all the time as well. So that's why I'm trying to "fix" this once and for all. That's where the SEGR will handle the matter. I'll be plating my EGR too once it's SEGR'ed.
