Location: Somewhere between Heaven and Hell... But it is really hot here on Earth...
I have removed the clutch fan, and have also pulled one relay from the box to force the electric fan to stay on full-time. Even before I discovered that the electric wasn't plugged in (long story) the ONLY thing that ran hot while driving without ANY fan running... Was the AC. The engine never went beyond dead-center on the gauge, even in some stop and go traffic. Once I plugged the fan in, the AC performed great and the temp gauge went back to its normal one-line-left-of-center position. Maybe for giggles I will put the relay back in and see if my mileage tomorrow goes up on my drive back to Savannah.
