Not to be rude, but let me try to unconfuse you with regards to the s%&t torque converter that Chrysler used in the U.S models.
The odometer has 80,500. I purchased the extended warranty through Chrysler that covers me to 100,000 miles or Feb of 2011. I'm pretty sure that once it's up that suddenly I will need a replacement everything, but I digress.
You must've gotten lucky with a dealership as I purchased new in Feb of 2006 with a whopping 82 miles on the odometer. A few months into driving I started notcing the weird issues that plagued this vehicle. I hadn't discovered this forum yet so I would take it straight to the dealer when ever I got one of those nice official recall notices, 1. Blower Moter (just got the 3rd one replaced last week) 2. Ball joint 3. F37
Every time I would bring into a dealer (as I've tried more then one thinking that should they have a Dodge franchise that perhaps I would get someone with a little Cummins knowledge) .... I would complain of a shudder. Vibration at highway speed and would explain my findings of what I found on the internet, TSBs, this forum, etc.
Over the course of travels to the dealer, I've also had the turbo, inter cooler, and all cac hoses replaced under warranty at around 40,000 miles. I'm on my 3rd set of rotors and pads. The first 2 sets warped easily so I replaced with after market cross drilled and slotted Frozen Rotors and factory Mopar Pads. I paid for those.
I also had the motor mounts replaced under warranty( 28k). Oh yeah, the brake hoses to the front calipers "ballooned" and were replaced with an upgraded version under warranty.(25k) I installed Bilstein shocks all the way around as the struts were shot and I wasn't about to keep dealing with factory crap. The reliability of the Bilsteins along with the lifetime warranty was hard to pass up. Had a Kennedy lift pump installed back in 2008. I run a homemade provent, which again, what kind of engineering design thinking was that? Oil back into your intake? Brilliant!
Fuel Head unit was also replaced under warranty so as to prevent fire... and to help keep air out of the fuel system.
Let me see, Hub Bearing were shot at around 70,000 miles and again, thankfully I had the extended. New tires, mounted and balanced by my mechanic and the Jeep still shudders. I had the drive shaft taken out and balanced and to my surprise it took weight! The truck still acts like crap and I wanted what I think would and should only logically be replaced especially since the TSB for the F37 called for it. What a great Jeep! So glad they tested this before rushing to production to use us all as test mules for the US Diesel market. Anyway, interesting to see what Nissan will do with the Mercedes diesels they purchased....
