Are you kidding? Have you seen how all twisted that thing is? And talk about filthy, it must have been dragged through the gutter at least a dozen times or more.

You'd have to pay us to take it, but I think I'll stick with the nice clean innocent one that I already have.

:goink:

I didn't say it was mine did I?

I got it from a former friend of mine who is now a Law Enforcement Officer/Total douchebag, he had no more use for it apparently. :jester:

Assuming that you could find a trusted VM mechanic with the proper tools, what would the total labor cost involved be, to replace the timing belt, related hardware, and the water pump?

It takes approximately 5.5 hours to perform the work. Labor rate is $95.00 an hour or more, plus parts $650.00, give or take depending on the shop or dealer.

Congrats to both of you! Bub, its good to hear that you have the tools now, and can start (safely) digging around in that engine bay.

Let us know what you discover!

9599 is the number of the Miller tool kit cases, case #2 I believe.

The thing is, only the VM 1058 clamp is stored in box #2, the other tools in there aren't useful for a timing job. The pins and wrench are in box #1.

I have the full 4 box set. Sold the Liberty about 7 months ago, planning to get another someday... not so sure now. Put CNG on my dually and its now reasonable to drive without having another car to maintain and insure.

PM me about the tools.

I have the timing pins, the tensioner wrench, the cylinder head cover pins, and the camshaft sprocket holder tool.

I'm willing to lend them out for $25/week, but I warn you, I will require a deposit of the full cost of the tools (based on current prices from Miller Specialty). Put another way, if you don't return them, you'll pay full retail for my set, and I'll go buy another set. Also, any tool you return damaged, you've bought. In case you're wondering about the weekly fee, it's to encourage their prompt return.

I realize the terms might seem extreme. I paid good money to have the right tools. I'm willing to provide access to those tools cheaply. I am not willing to lose my investment.

"I have the complete set. Will loan locally for a night with your 18 year old daughter."
I wouldn't need the tools, us old guy's usually end up at the coroners office with deals like that.
