I might have it by this Friday, so did you get one ordered, or did I scoop ya. Made
arrangements if it does not fit, will take photos of them side by side for the fill levels.
Ordered from:
Brent Lottman
PML Inc.
800-335-4345
He will be watching this thread to see if he can add our Liberty's to his fit guide.

Darn, Ripster, I just can't keep up with ya

Maybe, but the best is how we are going to mount an EGT gauge, best most valuable gauge you can have in a turbo car, had one in both
the TDI and GT Cruiser. 400-750 was the range in the TDI, 800-1250 was the operating range in the Cruiser. A must
for turbo life, you get this done, I will bow. 8)

I will have EGT, Boost, and Rail Pressure working within two weeks.

I will also have pictures and such of the installation.

I will edit out the profanity and other inappropriate action that is not suitable for family fare.

My last towing vehicle had Boost and EGT and I was towing a 24’ X 8’ Pace Shadow that at times weighed up to 12K lbs. Long hills I really had to watch the EGT. The Boost gage was a big help when I started to up the boost and playing with the TDC offset and the tune.

No need to bow we are all friends helping each other here I hope.

I look forward to your installation report on your Diff Cover.

I have a big trip coming up in August. I am going to to Elko, NV from Atlanta. It is 2150 mi one way and I will be towing a motorbike trailer with two bikes. Trailer and bikes should weigh less that 2K lbs. But three large Adults with camping gear and such for 10 days should be a decent load.

No, my new JVC all digital (no tape, it has a 20 GIG hard drive and also uses SD card. I already have a 1 gig card.) video camera came today. All the way from Japan and only took 11 days, love the military on line exchange. It was $600 at Wal-Mart and $500 through the exchange with no sales tax, which means I save $150 I have to spend on the other half. Oh crap next month is year #33, I may have to look the money tree over tonight before I call the guy at PML tomorrow.

Well the wife was bragging about how she saved me $75 the other day, it only cost me $57 for her to do that for me. :?

I think I may wait to see if yours fits without any problems, before I order one.

Besides I have the MI GTG happening in about 30 days and may need to save a few bucks extra for fuel way things look.

Thanks man. The only thing that stopped me from ordering is the 15% restocking fee, otherwise I would have already ordered the cover.

So if it don't fit you saved me about $40 in fee's and shipping cost.

Meanwhile let me enjoy that $75 dollars my wife saved me the other day.

Bloody cable service has been dropping the modem connection during the day due to construction up the road, can only post late at night after work.

Finally crawled under mine back on Sunday and looked at how high the fill hole was compared to the lower side bolt. By eyeball measurement, I'd say the bottom edge of the fill hole on the stock diff cover is just about even with the top edge of the bottom side mounting bolt. PML said that the bottom edge of the fill hole on their cover is 1/2" above the dead center of the bottom side mounting bolt. SWAG is that their fill hole is perhaps 1/4" higher than on the stock cover.

Looks like that makes it good to go. Just need to make sure you don't overfill with a higher hole, if I remember correctly this diff doesn't have a vent on it, ie, overpressurize and blow out seals.

Manuvering it into place might be a little tricky, but even with the fuel tank skid plate, from what I measured on mine once installed there should be plenty of clearance.

From what I've read about servicing this axle, will need to support the Jeep on jackstands and let the axle hang free to get to the bolts without breaking your nuckles. I thought this axle was vented through a hose/snorkle to keep water out when crossing a stream???

It could be vented, and it's just when I looked at it didn't recognize it as such. Might want to check on your own, I've been way wrong before.

the Corp 8.25" is vented. The vent runs up on top of the gas tank.

You know, it seems no one can do thier job correctly anymore, the minute you count on something
you track your long awaited product, the tools the oil and the camera are ready and you see this.

AN INCORRECT ROUTING AT A UPS FACILITY CAUSED THIS DELAY;
THE PACKAGE WAS MISSORTED AT THE HUB.
IT HAS BEEN REROUTED TO THE CORRECT DESTINATION SITE

So now it will be Monday before it arrives and it will probably be the
next weekend before I get a chance, see Old Navy you could have
been the winner if you had ordered one, it would have made MO
before MI.

Hey I wanted to take it to MI and have it done on Marty's lift, I didn't want to do it laying on my garage floor. Wanted it up in the air so as to have the axle hang down for ease of access, but also wanted to see if you had clearance for fuel tank with skid.

Ok here is a photo of the two covers side by side:

Image

Another one from the side, the fill hole is located very close to exact:
You can see the replacement bolts and washers that come with it.

Image

Bolts are us allen heads with washers, Drain plug has magnet and washer:

Image

Distance between gas tank and cover, about 1 inch or the width of a
small hammer handle.

Image

Hope this helps in the decision making process, the unit is very well done
and of quality materials, I would do this in a heartbeat again. Fill is now
3 full quarts and maybe a touch of a 4th. AMS/OIL Severe Gear 75-90
should hold up well. I now have replaced all but the transmission fluid,
now for a trip to check mileage. My last Jeep gained 1-2 mpg with all
syn fluids front to rear.

If that is an inch without the skid plate for fuel tank, then I'm not sure I would want to try and risk install. I bet that skid taks about 1/2" to 3/4' of space. I may call them tomorrow or Wednesday and see about any posibility of future change in size of cover.
