The transmission appears to be shifting normally but I wouldn't call it "firmly" because it feels like a soccer mom's minivan. Smooth and buttery.

Transmission is *optimized" for comfort, it won't shift as a dsg double clutch but you can make the shifts firmer installing a transgo kit.

Word to the wise: Good advice from my long time transmission specialist friend whom I trust emphatically; he stated that if you remove the transmission for a TC replacement, replace the front pump assembly with a new one if it has not been replaced before. He explained that there are plungers and bores along with the pump itself in the front pump housing that simply wear out over time and cause many problems. :grim:
and yes, a Transgo Kit is a very good addition to add while doing the TC & front pump!

He has been building transmissions his whole life and owns his own business; he has rebuilt many 45's and 545's transmission in all kinds of Chrysler products and speaks from experience. :JEEPIN:

There have been very few posts here about complete engine failure. And even fewer transmission failures. Most of the engine problems have been related to rocker arms and head gaskets. Some have posted about turbo failures, which is sometimes followed by engine failure, but if if you catch the turbo problem early enough the rest of the engine can survive. Turbo cool-down time is important!

Most of the issues mentioned can be traced back to the problematic EGR system.
