If it don't we have wasted a lot of time and money.

That said I think it will, and mfg is also confident.

Just heard from mfg, they are shipping the CCV via Fedex overnite so I will have in time to do the road test with he trip to MI GTG. That will be about 1400 miles plus for a 3 day weekend, we should be able to see the proof of the works by time I back.

Just wondering where in MI are you going? I live in the center of extreme southern lower MI. Hope your filter works out since I am wanting one when they hit the market. Have fun on your trip and hope you get some big mileage reports to tell us.

I'm in Southeast MO, but I going to a VW Diesel GTG that will be about 20 miles SE of Lansing near Fowllerville MI. A couple other CRD owners may be there also, at least I hope they come.

WOW, that's only about ninety minutes from here. Guess I better check out the site and maybe go there myself. Might be a fun little trip for us on the long weekend. Supposed to be in the 80's here. Thanks for the info!!!!!

Just recieved the CCV for testing on the trip to MI GTG and back. I will post pictures of what I am allowed and post here tonight or Saturday night or both.

Guys it is a beauty, I like the non anodized shop look.

Well I am headed to the oven called a garage.

That would be the air hose between the output of the turbo and the intercoller

Will this essentially do the same thing as the Provent or is this something in addition to?

Thanks

it is different, it stops oil from entering the hoses from the crank case.

This is a new filter that is now snuggly mounted on the engine under the OEM Pressure Regulator and with the engine cover on. The install took about 5 minutes, I'm old with bad back and arthertic hands. It will do the same thing a Provent does.

Thank you for initiating this...I look forward to your report and the purchase of one if it works as expected.

Old Navy is on a trip, so I am sure photos will be there once he returns. And if
they are going to market it, there may be some restriction on photos till the item
is secured, maybe there is even a patent involved, don't know. But I do know
Old Navy will make sure we will get one. I would look for an answer mid week
next week once he returns from Michigan testing the item.

The filter was designed by "Mashurst Products" with consultation by Walt (OldNavy) and is pat pend. Marketing will be via www.buildyour4x4.com.

I will be getting a test unit this coming week and both walt and I will put it through its paces, measuring, doing our best to break it, etc. . We want to be very sure it fits, works, & looks good before Mashurst does a production run. Production costs are a bit higher than expected and the engineers are trying to figure out a way to reduce that burden.

More news to come. :D

This is getting exciting.

So far it seems the test unit is doing what it is designed to do. I am going to try and get a clear hose to run from CCV down to the air intake tube from airbox today or tonight, that way any oil coming out of the CCV will be easy to spot and photograph.

Hey oldnavy, any updates on your new filter? Just curious how it is performing for you and how long you guys are going to test it before releasing it to the open and hungry market? Well hope the test is still looking positive, can't wait to hear how it's working. :)

I am running with a clear CCV hose for the test and so far it is looking good. Some time between Saturday and next Tuesday I will put the system back to stock to show how a non filtered system passes oil through the clear hose. Man I am dreading working in the garage next week, it will probably be pushing 100* with about 99% humidty.

I would like to see the output of your new filter ran into a provent before going to the turbo. I am curious to see if there are any vapors that dont settle in the clear hose.

And when you say it mounts under the oem pressure regulator are you talking about the black plastic bit that is held on with 3 bolts? And once we get our hands on them would it be something we should take off before going in for service?

I'm wondering is there any way to put something like this between the turbo and the intercooler? Or is that where this goes?
Now remember that I am not that smart when it comes to diesels or turbos.
