Yeah...I've always wondered why big rigs smoke as much as they do. That was until I filled up at a truck stop and got some rot gut fuel. It was LSD, said so right on the pump. The fuel was crap. I got cruddy mileage and my poor CRD sounded like a box of rocks.

Nothing can beat the B20 from the station across town, but it's so far away. I contacted the company and they are putting a pump in near me "sometime this summer". YEAH!! :D

Just got 26+ mpg calculated from the fill-up today. That was 80% highway with me driving and trying to keep the speed below 62mph, but realistically keeping at 65. Wife almoast killed me for diving slow going to the beach... But a difference of 2-3mpg vs dricing 70-72 mph is really was worth noticing. All of this is at 37psi on stocks, 3 passengers, and a tail hitch rack (only 20lbs but potentially a lot of drag). Oh, and ORM of course (MAF only).

There is no way I can get down to join the 55mph and 1650rpm crowd. Someone will flatten us!

Shouldn't need to. I ran 70-75mph for 600 miles and averaged 30mpg hand calculated.

Thats one thing I will never understand. When my KJ was bone stock and I was trying to drive as fuel efficient as possible at 70-75, I would barely get 24mpg. How can there be so big differences?

No I do not know the ins and outs legally of making my own fuel in Germany.

I think a lot of the mileage variations have to do with fuel quality. I pretty much drive the same way, the same route, the same weather, etc....the only difference is where I buy my fuel.

I've seen mixed driving mileage between 20 and 24mpg and all highway between 27 and 30mpg.

Now that I've done the InMotion chip tune, I am interested to see what my mileage does. It's suppose to go up, yet I have 30 more horsepower and 35lb/ft more torque. Go figure.

Got fuel yesterday and these were the prices:

Esso(Exxon) $5.63 a gallon
Globus (Walmart basicly) BIO $4.94 a gallon. But it is 5 miles out of the way.

I still have not tried it with Bio yet. I will have to try a tank full just to see if there is a difference.

If like any bio I have used it will quiten the engine for sure. Depending on the feed stock you most likey will see no difference unless the fuel you are using is really crappy and same goes for the biodiesel. With soy based average mpg drop is 1 to 3 % or almost none measurable.

I just drove from kansas city to lesterville mo 300 miles one way and only used 9 gallons with 4 people in the car and the back cargo area filled to the brim. Not bad but I have done all the orm and gotten rid of the muffler which made it coast a little better but the biggest difference was the amount of air coming out of the exaust pipe a lot more volume and warmer.

My first fill-up was a 450 mile tank! Home to Crystal Coast, AC blasting... [ & Sirius Blasting 8) ] just me on the way down and me and Suz on the way back....... beach gear, nothing on roof......... DinoDiesel (about to make a mix equivalent to B5 of bioD) AND: Cruise was broken.... dealer is ordering parts to do warranty work........

AND...only 20% was on interstate (there's just no fast way to get to Emerald Isle)

Back home on fumes........... around town it's not so great but on the HWY......grand!!!!!!!!

Omaha to West Lafayette and back. Nearly 1200 miles at 75 to 85 mph @ 25 mpg hand calculated. I think at higher speeds the diesel really outdoes a similar sized gasser. My old explorer at 85 would get less than 15 mpg, true, it's a bigger vehicle, but not big enough to make up the nearly 70% difference in fuel economy. We love the CRD.

I averaged about 25.7MPG with very mixed drivinig. Everything from 60mph jogs to 120mph runs on the Autobahn.

Just did 496.6 on 18.22 gallons= 27.25 MPG. Not bad for 75-80 MPH driving. I was tempted to drive around a bit more just so I could say I hit 500 8) But the Miles till empty was on ZERO for about 15 miles already....

Hehehehe, not enough nerve for the 600 mile mark like me huh. Ok, ok, when I did 600 miles+ on a trip I did have spare fuel in the jugs in back end of the Jeep.

Hey, the E320 CDI is at 609 miles and computer say I have 203 miles till fill up required. I am loving a 2 ton luxury car that getv better milesage on the highway then Toyota Corolla. 8) :D

Too bad your don't have a autobahn to enjoy it on. The last E270CDI I drove was peaking at the 149mph mark.
