It's not Samco guys, its the vendors "we don't stock those, 6-8 weeks to order" "we don't do groupbuys." etc

Samco has the hoses for sale, you can order them if you are a vendor/importer.

Right now any of you could go out and special order them through a vendor, and wait pay full retail price.

...just a clarification for you guys. I'm a chemist that works for a company whose business is silicones. Silicones themselves generally have poor resistance to oils, but if compounded right, they can be decent. These hoses are probably silicone on the outside so that they have that nice pliable property over a wide range of temperatures and help keep the costs down to some degree. The inner lining of the hose which actually sees the oils will be a fluoro-silicone rubber compound...very expensive...but gives it that great oil resistance.

...another insteresting side-note. My manager, back when he was a lab rat like me, used to work with silicone rubbers. We were talking about motor oils and he told me why he used Valvoline in his vehicles. They had this project for a while where they were trying to find good compounds for o-rings and gaskets and such. One of the tests they would do soak the rubber in various brands of motor oil. Of all of the oils tested, Valvoline for the most part left the rubber unchanged while many of the other brands swell/ate/destroyed it. I suspect there isn't much of anything special about the base lube stock, but it's probably more the additives in the oil formulations. I'm not trying to pick a fight here because I've observed that some of us out there hold "our brand" of oil near and dear to our hearts. It's kind of unfortunate that we have such a limited choice of what we're "allowed" to use in our vehicles. He and I were just talking about this a couple of weeks ago and I thought I would share it with you since I thought it was interesting.

Just out of curiousity, how long should the stock hoses last? I'm at 2 years and 27K still going strong. What is Samco warrenty?

I blew my first one at 28k and it had a Provent on it as well. Covered under warranty, but now I have one hose with 20k on it and one with 48k (scary if you ask me) I feel like I am living on borrowed time. I would probably by the radiator hoses while I am at it just for the coolness factor

So the hoses are in stock at Samco but the Vendor will not place the order? I want to get this correct before I start making phone calls and pissing off some vendors. I have no problem with calling CEO's of companies directly.

I contacted Boostcontroller.com and asked about the Samco turbo hoses for the Jeep CRD. This is the reply I received:

Quote:
Here is the info you requested. They are available for order now. They should take six weeks to come from England. We'll get them on the website next week, they can be ordered by phone until then. Toll free: 877-836-6155. We are moving into a larger shop this week, some calls are coming through, but most are going to voicemail. Phones will likely not be fully operational until Tuesday 7/1, but if you get voicemail please leave a message and we'll call back.

O/E Hose Numbers

O/E Location

Samco T/B Part No
55037729AC
Turbocharger ~ Intercooler
TB-2459
55037730AC or AD
Intercooler ~ Inlet Manifold
TB-2460
Vehicle Make & Model
Chassis Number
Vehicle Registration Number
Year of Manufacture
Jeep Liberty/ Cherokee CRD 2.8Ltr (U.S Models)
2003 ~ 2007

Retail price is $299.98. We will discount that. The kit is a little pricey due to the Flurosilicone liner that protects the hose from degradation due to the high amount of oil mist being passed through them, and Samco is never cheap :) But as usual, the hoses should last the life of the vehicle. They are available in all the usual Samco colors. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Ted
