Harbor Freight also has them, especially since its gonna be chinese junk no matter where you get it. No point in overpaying for that.

I need new tires in a big way. I want to get the tall narrow size like Geordi, the 215/85/16. I didn't like the reviews of the BFG Commercial, and have been sold on the Yokohama Geolander ATS. Discount tire quoted me $650 for 4 (I will look for a used tire to mount as a spare). Anyone got a better price or input on that tire locally in Denver area?

CRD is factory stock suspension, and I don't want a wider tire. I like the mileage advantage of the narrower widths and need good performance all year round including snow and rain. Driving habits are mostly city with long highway trips across Kansas and Nebraska. Not much off-roading.

What reviews of the commercial tires? I'm genuinely curious to see other people's opinions, I've had nothing but good luck with mine. So much so, that the rest of my family has decided to try them on our other cars - Mercury Mariner Hybrid SUVs and the Jeep Grand Cherokee when each needs tires.

Initial Review, 10,000 Miles on Tires
May 27, 2009

These tires are great in the summer and on dry roads. completely terrible on wet roads. no traction off road but its a street tire so you get what you buy.

OEM tires for a 07 Tundra Crewmax, currently have 40K on tires and rotated religiously. I would feel comfortable with another 10K of wear before replacing. However, my only reservation is the wet weather handling of the tires. They hydroplane very easily and wet road handling is questionable.

I bought these tires and have loved them since day one! I liked them so much that I put another set on one of my other work trucks and will continue to as the rest need tires. I run a full size work truck and haul a fair amount of weight during the week, and take the truck on trips on the weekend and no matter how hard I push the truck the tires keep up. On dry pavement the tires are perfect, wet roads they handle just as well. On ice and snow they do ok but they are a highway tread so dont be expecting to drive through a snow storm with out four wheel drive. Overall if you are looking for a long lasting heavy duty on road tire this one is for you.

Really a bad tire. hydroplanes, has no traction in any snow or ice. treadlife is poor. What is BF Goodrich thinking? they must give these to OEM's...

All these reviews were on light to medium trucks...

The Yokohama has much better reviews and wet/snow ratings and has a similar mileage wear rating (50k).

I just brought Michelin 245/70-16 LTX A/T2 and they are fantastic. I got for 122 each at local tire rack and I mounted them as white letters in, black wall out

Can you explain why you went for the white letters in and black sidewall out.

IMO it makes the tires look a lot more aggressive

I've run Geolander H/T-S's for the past 28K miles that I purchased at Discount Tire. They're at about 6/32. Most of my miles are freeway commute and traveling to NM though I do enjoy some fairly serious off road a couple of times a year including some snowy trails. I couldn't be happier with their performance.

I think I mentioned this before on this thread, but look into the Pirelli Scorpion ATR. For an all-terrain tire, they are very street-friendly for a daily driver.
