Add to that, the "environmental protection agency" that insists on focusing on carbon dioxide (since they obviously fixed everything else!) SOLELY from moving vehicles and creating new and horrible methods of forcing these vehicles to burn MORE fuel, in some quest to make LESS emissions FROM that fuel.
I think you would need to look at the percent reductions in emissions vs the percent reductions in MPG to make an accurate comparison. IE, if you cut emissions in half, but that results in halving your MPG as well, then the net result seems to be the same from an emissions stand point. Yes, your costs would increase too. I think this example works, but honestly I didn't think about for very long.

Meanwhile, the EPA completely fails to do ANYTHING about even a single coal-fired power plant, which has been established NUMEROUS times that if just a single coal-fired plant was shut down, it would equal the CO2 output of removing 3 MILLION cars from the road. FYI: almost 50% of the power in the USA comes from coal fired power plants. In addition, many of these powerstations (of any fuel) are sending power so far from their location, that 90% of the energy is lost in the transmission lines.
umm.. I don't think any of this is correct at all. Lots of studies have been shown that electric vehicles getting there power from the grid (transportation energy change from gasoline to electricity) is more efficient and produces less emissions then using gasoline.

I have no idea where your 90% of the energy is lost in the transmission lines comment comes from. It is actually the other way around, it is 10% of the energy is lost. If 90% was lost, you would not be seeing the generation locations so far away from the load centers.
