Isn't high temps generally a resultant of high compression?

Please explain, without using right-wing political rhetoric, your SPECIFIC allegations against CARB citing facts, data and links.

California voters could have shut CARB down through the initiative process. They apparently don't share your opinion. Maybe having to breathe the air in California's basins has something to do with this opinion.

Even if they did shut it down via initiative process, a judge (or three) would have overturned the people's vote.

Since there has not been a successful (or any?) initiative campaign to eliminate CARB, the people of California, who pay for it, support it. For which specific reasons should they want to eliminate it? And why are their air pollution policies any of concern to you as a non-resident?

2 Reasons.

Because CARB regulations influence the EPA which effects the whole nation.

Because if the manufacurers want to sell cars/trucks in CA, they have to meet CARB standards.
Which means all new vehicles will be built to CARB standards nationwide.
They are not going to build one type of vehicle just to be sold in CA. They will build a
vehicle that can be sold everywhere in the U.S.

(Yes, our CRDs were an exception. The CRD was sold everywhere except CA, NY, and a few
other states)

You have to be kidding. That is like saying I shouldn't care about what happens in DC or Detroit's economic spiral. The reality is that CARB's policies affect the sale of all combustible engines. Manufacturers build engines for every market if it is large enough. Cali's definitely is. If the company can hang a new technology on the engine (or create a new process) to satisfy emissions, great. NY and other east coast states follow CARB's lead. So now you have 3-5 states that will not allow the sale of a vehicle/engine in their state due to CARB's faulty assumptions and subsequent policies. At this point, the company cuts their losses and sells their product to a market with fewer environmental socialists: Europe. Unfortunately, the rest of the country gets dragged down and loses out due to what happens on the VERY bankrupt Cali Coast.

Other than that, you're right, I don't care what you do. When it leaves me stranded with an engine I purchased to save fuel and reduce my emissions, leaves me hanging with a defunct company that suspends domestic sales due to aforementioned air emission issues with an end result with which there are not enough mechanics around that know how to work on it, AND the heartburn knowing I made the right purchase for the right reason only left out on a limb because of BS; I care.

So yes, I care about Cali's CARB because it affects all of us in one form or another. I wish all of the results were positive. In this case, it was not.

Well their's a start in that direction
How about

California voters, meanwhile, will vote on Proposition 23,

Boilermaker 2, don't take the troll bait and spoon feed, let him read the article(s) for himself.

If his statements in a past post are true about him being a Chemist, he should be developing a biodegradable condom that uses H2S (component of sewer gas) as a catalyst to initiate the break down the latex, to SAVE THE WORLD.
Besides it would give the Mayor of Portland, OR (who got throw away plastic grocery bags banned) another topic to run for the next election.

PS, I recycle my throw away grocery bags to help create jobs.

Just wait, CARB will be going into Kitchens where they will find the pollution levels much higher than on Construction Sites with Heavy Equipment Powered by Diesel Engines.

Why is your only response seem to be, "I am smart, I am right, and look it up if you don't believe me." ?

Is that your only role in this discussion? There seems to be many people interested in more then just if they are right or not, like other peoples points of view about why they believe something.

On what criteria do you base your allegation of hypocrisy?
Please be specific.

Because you should be driving a Prius, it is CARB approved.

I see the Planeteers have only resorted to personal attacks in this thread, sort of like the Captain did in the DPF thread? You are gonna have to try a little harder then that internet tough guy :ROTFL:

I have made my points on CARB and EPA many many times, backed them up and don't see the need to keep repeating myself so the lazy can have the rest of us do all the work. If you missed anything read the thread and read some other posts.
Last time I checked Congress did not vote in an entitlement to spoon fed Trolls so they can make lame arguments.
Between the DPF Regen problems with EMS vehicles and the CARB Busted there is a pattern of Tag Team Trolling. One jumps in with the Junk Science Argument, then the Circular Emotional Argument, steps back and the next one steps up with the same routine we have heard before and watched it sink into the Tar Pit.

Again, avoiding the topic as always... seems cheap rhetoric is the flavor of the day.

I read the whole thing. All I thought I read was "the government is the problem" and "go find it for yourself". I guess some of us have different ideas of what a "point" is and what it means to "back them up". Interesting.

You and flman?

Ever come to the conclusion that maybe people aren't as smart as you and are asking you for information? You seem to have a very interesting point of view about sharing information on a discussion forum.

My diesel vehicles comply with the emission standards of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and are tested every two years. Whether CARB approved them is irrelevant.

Is that all you have?

CARB committed fraud and should face the same liability and criminal charges as industries who commit fraud.
Court cases should be filed and they should be brought to justice.
If you do not agree that CARB should be subject to the same laws requiring them to record and report factual environmental information as companies and Local Governments have to do. Come out and admit it with out pulling a diversion, emotional arguments, or Sophomoric Debating tactics.
Since they exaggerated NOX emissions from Diesel Engines to create new legislation, even the chart below published by the EPA is suspect, can it be trusted, did CARB contribute any of the DATA? If so it is tainted and any calculations made using the data will be wrong. Engineers, real scientists, and our elected officials make calculations and decisions based upon the numbers, numbers that need to be correct. That is why CARB needs to at least have a through house cleaning and those who committed fraud need to be gone for good.
Note how much NOX comes from Agriculture production, anyone ready to give up eating anyone? Not me.
