I can't get past this screen though.

It must be outdated or using old drivers/plugins...

That ECU software version is the same one I have, so the ECU must be a Bosch EDC16C31.

I checked with ECM Titanium and the CXXX_808 driver says that it is for
Jeep Cherokee 2800 CRD 163CV Bosch EDC 16C2-9.9X

Maybe only the '05 used the EDC16C31?

I know that if I use my software and choose EDC16C31 it still can read the ECU (that part of the id request must be the same) but my ECU still pumps out EDC16C/C2-9.9.

Edit- Just checked again. There is no option for EDC16C31. I have an EDC16CP31 option under Jeep and Mercedes but this won't identify.
What will identify is the EDC16C/C2 option under Mercedes.

Yes, ECM shows that for the 808 driver, and you have the 808 software, same as me (on my 2006), and the Program shows the ECU as the EDC16C31. So you should have the same ECU. I could be wrong, but I think the ECM driver matches up the ECU via the software that is loaded on it. I have 3 jeep CRD's here. 2 are 2005 with the 811 software on the EDC16C31 and the 2006 has the 808 software also on the EDC16C31, even though the 808 driver shows Bosch EDC 16C2-9.9X.

I just double checked with ECM, the driver for the 808 shows what you posted, however, when I load the original 2006 tune into ECM, it see's that it is the 808 after a search, and when you hit the "Info" button this is what it displays:

Bosch
EDC16C31
1037380808

Not trying to argue lol, just letting you know what I am seeing...

Absolutely, no argument. Just trying to get to the bottom of this.

When you mod a bin, are you asked to enter any ecu information?
When you enter the stock bin, does the info button also show EDC16C31?

When I mod it, I do not enter any kind of ECU info, nor does it ask me to. I just make changes to the maps and paths. And yes, when I load the stock tune the "Info" button shows EDC16C31.

I wonder if the file would change if you read the ecu with MPPS selecting:

Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.2L CRD Bosch EDC16C2-9 K-Line/CAN

Try it, if it reads it, send it to me and I will compare it to my stock 808 file and see if there are any differences.

Sorry, I was hoping you would try.
My flasher only id's the ecu and it gives the same edc16c/c2-9.9 message if I choose edc16c/c2 or edc16c31.

Maybe Alientech is wrong! It doesn't seem to matter though. The hardware and software work for both of you.
I have ordered a cheap China clone :frankie:

The same one as Nick.

If it consistently reads, I am not worried about the write.

Yes, in the tune I made for the 2005 I am removing it. On the tune you sent me for the 2006 (808) I will be removing too. if the tune you sent me is does not have the FCV delete, I will add it in...
