Yes i went through your last post thanks and now i understand the lift options a bit better.

It seems it's better to do the coils and shocks when lifting rather than the Daystar type lift.

For us oil burners there is no other option. I tried and failed miserably... :?

I know, same as on the KJs which traverse Moab. You on the other hand already get all the good choices for vehicles over there in Spain.

aah, dunno bout that one, if you want a riceburner or a german $$$$ something you're ok overhere. Now if you want a US build car....that's a different story. ( except the JK unlimited 2.8 CRD maybe :D )

On a side note: the '02 KJ was the last JEEP that passed the rubicon trail...stock!! In case you ever wonder where those 'trail rated' badges come from. And no I do not climb over a mountain trail every day when I go to work, but I sleep a lot better knowing that I can. I would never ever buy another vehicle which doesn't have the same abilities as the KJ.

Guess you'll have to experience it first, there are more things a KJ can do than tow a boat.

http://www.jeepinbyal.com As soon as i hit the lottery i am going to get the 4 inch kit.

Sorry Mackruss, I am not a fan of VW or any other useless 4x4 vehicle.

These are the ones that put me and my KJ under a lot of pressure and extra eco taxes etc so I get a bad rep thanks to a bunch of mall crawlers.

And if they are so offroad worthy...why have I never ever seen one on the trails? IMO you cannot even get of a wet golfcourse with a Touareg.

Sorry, rant over, we already had this discussion a couple of months ago.

Check out the second paragraph - http://www.fourwheeler.com/roadtests/2005/129_0602_2005_volkswagen_touareg_v10_tdi_review/index.html
Not my first choice, but I belive it will go as far or farther than a stock Libby. You probably don't see them on the trail because of cost and target market. They're like Mitsubishi Monteros, used extensively off road in other countrys, but aren't targeted to that market here. Also, not much aftermarket available here for Monteros.

My wife has informed me that when her 1993 VW EuroVan goes she wants the newest XJ I can find   Some may see this as a step backwards but having owned 3 of them I think they are a fantastic vehicle :!: I could change the oil without jacking it up, unlike the libby, and wash the roof without a ladder, again unlike the libby  The six cylinder AMC engine is very robust, but very thirsty and the Japaneese AW4 transmission was never a problem even with more then 150k miles on one of them :?
And remember AMC was owned/controled by Renualt back then. Maybe a Fiat inspired modern XJ would not be such a bad idea

I would love to have one of those too. I still can't believe they killed that truck. What a bunch of mo's.

Mo' #1 - Let's see, we build this truck and can't keep the diesel version on the lots. They sell faster than we can build them. The gasser? We can hardly give it away. How's about we change the platform to something that we don't put a diesel motor in. The sales of the gas version will skyrocket!

Mo's #2,3,4,5 and 6 - Then we'll get bigger bonuses. Let's do it!

I've changed my "replacement vehicle." I now want the Transition Roadable Aircraft.

My replacement I have already purchased, used 06 Commander(I still have my 06 CRD).

If you have not checked one out, do so, you will be impressed. I have lifted, wheels and tires.

If I could not get a new JK CRD, I would try to swap a diesel into something else. Maybe a used FJ with a manual transmission.

Well nobody builds what I want so I have to build it myself. I would start a buildup on a JK loaded with a duramax engine. I would love to do a Cummins but the massive size of the engine would just take up too much space. The tough part would not be the modding but convincing the wife to park out of the garage for a while.
