Post subject:  glow plug light

Even when starting completely cold, I'm not seeing my glow plug light come on. I have an 06 Sport with about 5k on it and I've always seen this light come on up until about 1 week ago.

Does this mean my glow plugs aren't working? I've read where some have had to to replace already. Is this an indication?

I'm in weather that is about 60 at night and 80-90 daytime. Starts with no hesitation with no problems.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance, WWV

the temp here is about the same, and i rarely see my glow plug light some on. I think if your starting ok, i would doubt you have a problem, but maybe someone on here with more expirence might know something i don't

You will not see the gp light at those temps, or maybe just see it for a "flash". When it starts getting below 50F, you may see it for a second or two, but not really notice it until engine is at ambient temp below 40f.

The coldest I have started is at -12F and the gp light still came on only for about 5-8 secs. I understand that even after you start the gp will work for a while till operating temp, but the light will not stay on.

If it stars without problems, don't worry about it.
