Will my running almost exclusively B100 cause the engine to break in more slowly? Differing Lubricity and all that being taken into account, my engine has never had less than about B5 in it... Just a stupid question for today! LOL. |

Won't effect break in. B100 only runs thru the fuel system, burns, and out the pipe right? Lube oil does the rest. |

It would take considerable digging to find the article. Read once where running high percentage biodiesel can indeed be too slippery and prolong break-in. Essentially (as with all diesels) not all the fuel burns completely and the residue works it's way into the rings effecting the way they break-in and seat. In extreme cases, trace amounts of biodiesel can be found in the motor oil. Don't know the relative significance of running high concentrations of biodiesel vs the effect of very slippery synthetic motor oil in that same fresh engine. Would speculate that the synthetic motor oil is probably more of a factor in the long break-in times than the fuel used. |

Just my stupid answer Bottom line: would keep around B50 till a full year of running. IMHO ts not really the distance on your odo that counts, its more related to length of use at proper temp. Tons of small runs during 10k is not as good as many long runs for the same total mileage. Just my 2cents |
