Anybody tried this SP diesel ship for the CRD?

Do I have to be the test rat?

Don't let anything but your fear hold you back. :P
I liked the Upsolute chip in my TDI and I was wondering if there was a chip to maximize the economy of the CRD but I wouldn't want to blow up my tranny with a performance chip. 8)

does it plug into the OBDII port?

No, it plugs into the map sensor and something else. There are two versions of that programmer, Stage 1 and 2. Stage 1 doesnt change fuel pressure and stage 2 does.Stage 1 only has one plug and stage 3 has two plugs that you have to plug up under the hood. Very easy installation by the way, plug and play.

So how are the gains? Do they feel close to the claims?

As I said many times before, I dont really know. I can never really give accurate mileage results since I always drive differently. Although, on the last tank I took it easy and tried to drive even more efficient and I got 21mpg instead of 20, with the programmer being in FE mode. I expected it to be better though.

Really good example: When I first got my CRD I made a 500mile round trip to the beach, that was before I had the programmer, and got 24mpg driving extremely efficient (60-70mph). Not too long ago I did the same trip again, this time with the programmer, and only got 23.8 mpg. I was really disappointed.
